'The Social Network' actor found with pot
    Houston Mirror
    Friday 27th January, 2012
    (IANS)

Actor Armie Hammer, seen in "The Social Network", had to spend a night in a Texas jail after he was found in possession of marijuana.

The actor was driving through a border patrol checkpoint in Texas Nov 30, 2011, but the news emerged only Wednesday, reports dailystar.co.uk.

Hammer came into suspicion when a sniffer dog alerted cops to a small drug stash in his car. A search of the vehicle also turned up one brownie and three cookies laced with medical marijuana.

The actor was then arrested and held in custody overnight. He was released only after he paid a bond of 625 pounds.

The star escaped prosecution by the El Paso District Attorney because the 0.02 ounces of pot discovered did not qualify for a felony.

The case has since been passed on to the local sheriff's office.
